About the "Why did I get married?" promotion and the reporter from the Good Day Sacramento interview:

"Now I had never ever read any of this stuff in the past, but for some reason I felt lead to read it this time. The venom and disdain for what I do was apparent. And speaking of venom, what they did to Janet was unacceptable. Janet, who was under no obligation at all to promote this movie, sat with me while I was doing a round of TV interviews. Half way through the three hours of sitting in the same spot she was attacked by a reporter on a Sacramento morning show who only wanted to talk about the Super Bowl incident.

Now, I made it perfectly clear before we went live on the air that I wasn't talking about the Super Bowl or Janet's family. We had less than 5 minuets so I wanted to keep it positive and focus on the movie. But he didn't want to keep it positive. I had to maintain my composure because we were live on the air. I didn't let her speak. I kept jumping in because it was just so unfair to her. I have not seen Justin Timberlake attacked like that. I wasn't going to let them do that to her. Believe me when I tell you--Janet worked so hard on this film. She deserved more respect from this man than that! We both did."

Wdigm?takes No. 1 at the Box Office

Tyler Perry's "Why did I get married?" takes the Number one at the US Box Office - the LA Times is reporting:

In a competitive weekend at the box office with several higher-profile films opening, "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?" outsold them all with a surprisingly strong $21.5 million in revenue, distributor Lionsgate Films said today.

The Atlanta-based filmmaker's fourth feature knocked Walt Disney Co.'s family comedy "The Game Plan," starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, to No. 2, with $11.5 million at U.S. and Canadian theaters. Based on Perry's hit play, the PG-13 comedy drama about relationships and fidelity features a cast including Janet Jackson and the filmmaker himself.

"My strong hunch is that this is the last time anybody will underestimate Tyler Perry," Lionsgate President Tom Ortenberg said, noting that three of his four films have opened at No. 1. "Tyler's message of family values and personal redemption speaks very strongly to people who are not frequent moviegoers."

The thrillers "Michael Clayton," starring George Clooney, and "We Own the Night," with Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg, were in a tight race for No. 3 at an estimated $11 million each. The highbrow historical drama "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," starring Cate Blanchett, placed No. 6 with $6.2 million in a mildly disappointing premiere.

Box-office analysts, most of whom predicted Perry's new film would open in the $10 million to $15 million range, relied on consumer tracking surveys that continually underestimate the filmmaker because his audience comprises nontraditional moviegoers, Ortenberg said.

Perry's base is rooted in black churches, especially among African American women, although it continues to expand.

Close to 90% of ticket buyers for the new film were African American, Ortenberg said. But the percentage of non-black ticket buyers was the highest yet for a Perry film.

With his enthusiastic fan base, Perry's films have been highly "front loaded," doing a big percentage of their business in the first weekend. And while most of his movies have been solid hits domestically, they have done almost no business overseas.

If "Why Did I Get Married?" follows the pattern of his two biggest successes, "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and "Madea's Family Reunion," it will end up as a $50-million hit rather than a $100-million blockbuster.

Even so, Ortenberg said he was optimistic that the new film would show legs and that with the right marketing the filmmaker could start to make inroads abroad. "Why Did I Get Married?" received an A-plus rating in exit polls taken by CinemaScore, and in Lionsgate's own surveys 98% of patrons rated it "excellent" or "very good."

Janet Jackson Has Teamed With Maroon 5 But Duet With Mariah Carey Hasn't Happened Yet, Jermaine Dupri Says
'I wouldn't want to do a song with [Mariah] and Janet and it don't live up to them being as big as they are,' hitmaker says.

NEW YORK - Jermaine Dupri just released his autobiography, "Young, Rich, and Dangerous: The Making of a Music Mogul,"

and his Y'All Know What This Is ... the Hits collection drops October 23, but what has his girlfriend been up to? Well, the hitmaker said fans can expect to hear new Janet Jackson material sometime next year.

"Probably in February or March or the summer," JD said. "It's 45 percent done. [Singer/songwriter] The-Dream has a song on her album, [as does] Rodney Jerkins. It's gonna be a crazy album. It's a Janet record. I'm A&R-ing, and I'm probably going to be the [executive producer]. But I'm getting records she likes [and] pulling records from other people. She has a duet with Maroon 5. Just little things."

One huge thing people have been asking Dupri about is a potential duet between Janet and Mariah Carey, especially since they are now labelmates. (JD went so far as to promise a duet featuring the divas on Janet's last album, but it never materialized.) Nelly, for one, wanted to try and pull off the collaboration on his upcoming Brass Knuckles LP, but he couldn't come up with a good enough idea for the song.

"The thing about that is, I don't force an idea," Dupri explained. "It's a great idea if you can come up with the record. It has to be something that's organic. It can't be something we force just because the voices is together. I believe the last couple of records we saw where there are two big artists that came together and collaborated, they don't live up to be the record we want them to be. I was a little disappointed with the R. Kelly and Usher record ['Same Girl']. I thought the record should have been bigger than what it was. ... I wouldn't want to do a song with [Mariah] and Janet and it don't live up to them being as big as they are. ... But [the collaboration] is gonna surface one day. Something is gonna come up, and we gonna say, 'This is it.'"

JD accompanied Janet to the New York premiere of her new movie, Tyler Perry's "Why Did I Get Married?," earlier this week, and he says the couple could relate to parts of the film - especially the part where one person in the relationship is working too much.

"There are times she wants to be alone with me, and I have to pay attention to my Blackberry," he said.

He also beamed about her performance in the flick.

"She's got more parts than Tyler Perry [in the movie]," he said. "It's a Tyler Perry film, but she's telling what's happening from the start. It was good. But for me, with her and her acting, I'm not always psyched out because that's how we know her. We knew her from making movies and acting before the music. I know that's her first love, the acting."

Speaking in an People Magazine interview at the New York premier of "Why Did I Get Married", Janet and her boyfriend Jermaine Dupri clearly stated, "We're not married!":

"I didn't really take anything from my personal marriages," Jackson said of her role. "But from experience, and even from doing this film, it makes me realize that marriage is definitely a work in progress ... But if it's something you really want and the love is there, you will put in the work in time."

When asked if he thought his relationship with Jackson was successful in part because they are not married, Jermaine said, "The altar is like a party for your marriage. That is how I look at it."

The rapper and record producer added: "I don't think marriage itself even matters. I think people put too much importance on labels when it comes to marriage. Nothing changes when you go to the altar ... If you're with somebody, you're with somebody."

Jermaine also thinks the couple's demanding careers can be bad for the relationship. "You don't like being away from a person you like being with all the time. That's kind of hard," he said.

Janet about her upcoming Memoir & Britney Spears

Janet talked about Marriage, Upcoming Memoir & Britney Spears on a recent Black Voices interview.

"I'm in the midst of writing a book on my journey of my weight transitions in my life and my nutrition about it," the Gary, Ind. native revealed. It's been documented that Jackson tends to lean on the more heavier side when she's not releasing a project, but when she does put out something new it's much buzz about her miraculous weight loss.

"I don't read any of the stuff they say but I wouldn't put anything a pass them," she said of media reports making a big deal about it. "But at the same time, I don't think there's any wrong in that. It's just like a fighter getting ready for a fight.

"But I haven't always been that way," she rationed. "For the 'Nutty Professor,' I was up in weight with [the song] 'Doesn't Really Matter.' I was going through my divorce at that time and that was a troubling time for myself, but it's been a journey."

Janet also talked about Britney Spears on her Black Voices interview. As reported heavily in the mainstream media, the former chart-topping superstar recently lost custody of her two young children -- following a series of events that include questionable parenting skills and catastrophic career choices. Janet says:

"People are very quick to pass judgment on others but they never know what a person is going through and what makes them do certain things. So when people even ask me about Britney [Spears], I say 'Don't ask me, there are too many [assumptions] ... everyone is assuming and everyone is quick to pass judgment but no one really knows what this child is going through."

"I can't even say that I've been there," Jackson said about the possibility that she can relate to Spears. "I don't know what she's going through. I don't have two kids. She's the oldest in her family, I'm the baby. I hear she doesn't really talk to her mother. I've never had that type of relationship with my mother. And I've always had my brothers and sisters. So I don't know what she's going through."

"The only thing we have in common," she concluded, "is that we're both female, we're both into music and we're both in the public eye and we've both been successful at it, and we both have our issues."

JD talks about Janet in November issue of Vibe

Jermaine Dupri opens up about his relationship Janet in the November issue of Vibe Magazine according to a Metro article:

"There isn't anything we can really do but stay home," he says in the November issue of Vibe.

"I took Janet to the strip club one time, but you have to understand we have a real relationship. This ain't no Hollywood s***."

The music producer, who plans to produce a song on Janet's upcoming album, also admits that he sometimes gets more attention than his girlfriend.

"I got a worse life than Janet, actually, because now every time I go somewhere, it's a cat with a demo," Jermaine adds, laughing. "She only gets the autograph stuff."

The Metro article claims that Dupri will "produce a song on Janet's upcoming album," however it is not explained where that information came from and whether the detail was confirmed in the issue of Vibe. The November issue should be on newsstands soon.

Rumors that Janet will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show next week are indeed true, Oprah's official website is now reporting. Janet and the entire cast of "Why Did I Get Married?" will appear on the show next Wednesday, October 3.

14 September ,2007 : Trainer Tony Martinez 'Janet Workout on Dvd'

Janet's trainer Tony Martinez has launched a website to promote a new workout DVD titled "Janet's Workout" in which he shares the workouts that he has been giving Janet for the past ten years.

The DVD comes in two formats: a regular version, and a version containing a bonus "Janet Jackson Ab routine".

According to the website, the DVD will contain a full-body workout and "20 minutes of Janet Jackson's dance routines performed and broken down by her head dancer. This great dance is broken down to work the upper body, lower body and a combination of both."

In the version that contains the abdominal workout, Martinez says that he will show you "how Janet got the most envied abs in the industry."

It is unknown at this point exactly which of her dancers appear on this DVD.

The website does not explain whether Janet actually appears on the DVD, however in the DVD's description it does say: "Also you will laugh when Janet gives her trainer Tony a hard time."

In addition, the website contains a video commercial that features Janet discussing why she has chosen to train with Tony Martinez for so long.

It appears that the only place this DVD will be sold is on Martinez's website, however the site right now apparently is not taking orders.
